Heather of Hang Tight Studio has always been a dreamer, maker & a bit of a creative busy bee.
Heather began her career in the fashion industry, designing clothes & traveling to far off places to source fabrics & work with manufacturers. It was an incredible journey that really helped shape her knowledge about the world of design in general. It was during that time that Heather’s love for textiles grew & before she knew it she found herself sketching fabric designs more than she was sketching fashions. Heather decided that life was too short not to follow your passion so that’s exactly what she did. In 2000 she left the world of fashion design & launched her own surface design studio. It was the best decision that she’s made & she hasn’t looked back!
Nestled in her lime green studio in Kennebunk, Heather spends her days creating fresh surface designs that have appeared on apparel, home décor, wall coverings, lighting, tabletop & paper products throughout some of the world’s top retailers. When she’s not designing you’re bound to find her walking on the beach with her sweet Sussex spaniel Gracie Mae, or heading off on a fun road trip in search of cool treasures at flea markets & thrift shops.
