Machine Sewing Camp

Ages 8 and up

Full day camp 9AM-3PM

This year’s theme is S.T.E.A.M! We will be exploring sewing and fiber arts through the lens of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.

Some projects will include sewable circuits, weaving, building 3D structures with pleating, Fibonacci Sequence quilts, using Pi to make circle skirts, and so much more! Each week we will learn a new word like hydrophobia, oxidization, and viscosity, to describe the techniques and the science behind them. During Art week, we will study famous artists, including fiber artists, and create our own pieces inspired by their works. This is one of our favorite camp themes and we can’t wait to share!

• Week 1 June 24-28- Science Week (Chemistry!)

• Week 2 July 1-3 - a taste of each topic!

• Week 3 July 8-12 - More Science!

• Week 4- July 15-19 - Technology! (Sewable circuits)

• Week 5 - July 22-26 - Engineering! (using fibers to build!)

• Week 6 July 29-Aug 2 - Art Week!

• Week 7 Aug 5-9 - Math Week! (Geometry)

• Week 8 Aug 12-16 - More Math! (Fibonacci Sequence)

Camp runs for one week but campers are free to sign up for more than one week as projects will vary.

Tuition includes all materials.

(Students will eat lunch and play in Cameron Park between sessions)
