Adult Camp: Batik (August 14th)

55.00

3 hour workshop (though some may finish earlier)

Wednesday, August 14th

7-10PM

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

Welcome to Adult Camp! In Adult Camp evening workshops, we will explore all the fun fiber arts the kids get to try during Fiber Arts Camp.

In this workshop, we will explore the ancient art of resist dye, or batik. Traditionally, batik uses heated wax to create a resist to the dyes applied to the fabric in layers. Rich tapestries of color and design can be accomplished. We will be using less complicated tools like glue and paint and natural inks to create wall hangings in a similar fashion to traditional batik.

Although we have scheduled the workshop to last three hours, many will finish earlier. We just wanted to provide enough time for the creative process.

All materials provided.
